The Making of a Living Legend
An interview with Mr J.S. Wormsk
taken from the Porkskreach & District Evening Post

With the annual Wearypenn Race fast approaching, Mr J. S. Wormsk of Wormsk Television Repairs Brennockstow Street, is a busy man. "Yes," he agrees as he offers me a hard boiled egg, "this is certainly the busiest period of the year for me. Everyone wants to make sure their television is in tip top notch condition for the Big Race. Plus there's all the preparation for the Race itself." For Mr Wormsk is, of course, one of the Songs district's three  Schedulers.

I asked him how he came to be involved in Television Racing in the first place. "Oh, well it was back in the old country. I had an aunt who died and we didn't hear about it until a good three hours later. By the time my parents arrived to pay their respects, all the good stuff - the cutlery, the furniture, the gold coins under the hearth - had been taken by the rest of the family.      Finally, I wondered if Mr Wormsk had any tips for the Wearypenn Race. "There's some stiff competition this year. There's a few good Racers from Tombleg in particular. But my money, as always, is on our own Julie Gampson."

was hooked."
I wondered how long it was before he was racing televisions. "About a week! The set was pretty badly smashed up that first race. We had no money to get it repaired, so I had to fix it as best I could. So straight away I was involved in poking around with them."

So when did he leave the old country and set up shop in the Songs? "Oh, a good nineteen or twenty years now. I was in love; followed my sweetheart over. I worked in the Weathersong for a while, but I was making a few extra shillings in the evenings by patching up televisions. So I took the plunge and set up shop."

Wormsk's skill with a television, both on and off the racetrack is legendary. It wasn't long before the Songs' racing community honoured him by appointing him
